Who we are

We're a small, successful, family business with over thirty years' experience in furniture design. Driving the business are Malcolm and Matt, a father and son team who personally oversee every aspect of the business together - from sourcing to design and installation.

Malcolm's involvement in the furniture trade spans three decades, and he's accumulated a formidable knowledge and understanding of his subject in his time. Having initially trained as a traditional furniture maker, Malcolm can instantly recognise a well-designed piece of furniture. He draws upon his wealth of practical experience and his enthusiasm for excellent design to select the high-quality, precision-made furniture which makes up the Minimo collection.

Having grown up in a house where beautiful furniture was always admired it was only a matter of time before Matt joined forces with his father to develop and expand the business. Ten years of hard work have seen him help establish Minimo as one of the leading companies specialising in contemporary bedroom furniture in the UK.

What we do

Minimo works closely with some of Italy's most distinguished and innovative companies to source, ship, deliver and install the very best contemporary furniture for bedrooms and living spaces for clients in the UK.

We specialise in contemporary bedroom systems which include fitted wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes/dressing rooms, sliding door systems and free-standing bedroom furniture.

Our clients include architects, property developers and designers as well as private buyers. Of course, they all have one thing in common - an eye for beautiful design.

You can buy our products 'off-the-shelf', or if you want something that's completely unique, we'll design a bespoke system to match your particular requirements. We can visit you in your home to talk through all the possibilities, and once you've chosen a product or a design, we'll build your order, and then deliver and fit it for you at a time that suits.

Our approach

We've been operating as a small family business for over three decades, and we believe it's not just our exclusive, distinctive designs that set us apart from the rest, but also our genuine passion for our products.

We're a friendly team, and we pride ourselves on our efficient, one-to-one service, and our attention to detail. We like to get to know all our clients so we can develop a detailed understanding of their preferences. We're more than happy to visit you in your home to discuss your ideas and talk about how you can make the best use of your space. And we'll personally see to it that you receive exceptional service from the moment you make your order, to the moment we complete it.

Service/how to order

Our range of matching, modular storage systems for wardrobes and dressing rooms are available in a range of heights and widths, so they can be tailored to fit almost any space, whatever its size and idiosyncrasies. Features and finishing options are interchangeable, so you can design a system which suits your needs perfectly.

The process of ordering your chosen design is straightforward. You can browse the examples of available products and possible design combinations here on the website, or order a brochure.

Then give us a call to discuss your ideas or place an order.

We can visit you in your home to view your space and discuss your vision in more detail. We can bring along samples of the different woods and finishes available, and we'll also take measurements. Depending on the type of system you require, we'll produce a design proposal (we can work from your architect's plans or CAD drawings where appropriate) to illustrate how your room will look. Once your order is confirmed, we usually deliver and install your items within six to eight weeks.

Installation

Because Minimo's ranges are precision-crafted and finished immaculately, it's crucial to us that they're installed with painstaking care and attention to detail.

Our installation team are highly skilled, polite and diligent - and we'll go out of our way to ensure a minimum of disruption to your home while the build is completed.

We never contract the work out, precisely because this enables us to personally ensure that you receive efficient, friendly service from people who care as much about the furniture as you do.

Walk-in wardrobes

Walk-in wardrobes are a practical and intelligent way to make use of all the available space in a room. A small or awkward-sized room or cluttered area can be quickly and easily transformed into an unobtrusive, beautifully-designed storage system.

We offer three different styles of walk-in wardrobes, and designs and layouts within these styles are flexible, allowing a huge range of variations which can be tailored to meet your preferences and requirements.

Sliding door systems

All our door systems are produced on a made-to-measure basis. We offer a comprehensive range of doors suitable for a variety of applications (for instance as room dividers or entrances for walk-in wardrobes or other rooms). Most of the systems run along a track fitted to the ceiling; however they can also be fitted to run along a floor track if preferred. Most of our doors use aluminium frames and profiles, although in some cases we can supply these wrapped in a wood veneer or lacquered finish.

Door panels are available in a wide variety of finishes including:

Wood veneer: typically light or dark oak, but other finishes are available.
Matt or high gloss lacquer: tough, sleek and available in a range of contemporary colour options.
Glass: our wide range of glass panel options include mirror, coloured, smoked, satin or frosted glass finishes.

Kids' bedroom systems

Fun, imaginative and hard-wearing, our fresh and colourful kids' bedroom systems offer an infinite variety of design and colour combinations.

A comprehensive selection of matching, modular storage units are available in a range of heights and widths, and our extensive collection of innovatively-designed bunk beds and overbed units can be fitted with desks and additional integrated storage features to complete the room.

Our systems can be tailored to fit your space, so we can furnish even the most confined or awkwardly-shaped bedroom to minimise clutter and maximise the space available.

Bespoke

If you want a dressing room or walk-in wardrobe that's completely unique, we can design and style a bespoke system to match your exact requirements, with finishings of your choice. The process is simple:

Initial meeting
When you contact us we'll arrange a meeting, usually on site, to talk through your ideas, and take measurements. We'll also bring samples of the different woods and finishes available for you to browse through.

Design proposal
Once we have a detailed understanding of your requirements, one of our designers will draft an initial design proposal containing a floor plan and elevations for you to check over.

Proposal sign-off
At this stage you can give us feedback about the design and the layout, and finalise your choice of materials, finishes, lighting and features. Once you've agreed the final design proposal and costings, we'll ask you to pay a commissioning deposit.

Manufacture
As soon as the final proposal has been signed off and a deposit received, we'll begin the construction of your bedroom/walk-in wardrobe at our manufacturing site. This usually takes around twelve to fourteen weeks. At this point you'll be assigned a Project Manager who'll keep you informed of the progress of the build, and agree a suitable date for our fitters to begin the installation.

Installation
We're well aware that for the majority of our clients, this phase of the process defines their overall impression of the quality of our service and products. So we go to great lengths to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, on time, and with a minimum of disruption to your daily routines. Depending on the complexity of the design, installation will usually take around 1 to 2 weeks.

Completion
Once the build is complete your Project Manager will visit you to make sure that you're completely satisfied, and to check that your system has 'bedded-in' correctly. If any small final adjustments are necessary, our install team will revisit to ensure that every last detail of your furniture is finished immaculately.
